INTRODUCTION

This guide will provide seniors with information on how to locate resources in Williamson County that fit their needs. This is not an all-inclusive guide but rather a jumping-off point that will start you on your way to finding what suits your lifestyle and individual preferences. When researching and compiling this guide, we wanted to create something with the needs of seniors in mind. For this reason we surveyed seniors from many different areas of Williamson County and listened to what they wanted to find in a directory. We learned that most seniors knew about the cultural events occurring in their town but often could not find transportation to attend them. Some seniors that we talked to expressed the need for greater companionship, while others described the need for legal advice but without the high fees that often accompany it. Overall we found that seniors recognize what they needed but find it difficult to pin-point how to obtain it. This booklet will show you what is available to seniors in Williamson County and provide you with the contact information to talk directly with these organizations about your particular needs.

This directory is broken down into the basics - housing, medical, transportation, etc. - and includes descriptions and contact information for the organizations that fit under each heading. For more specific information not provided here, it is best to contact a given organization directly by phone or visit their website (when available). Most organizations will be very helpful in answering your questions or directing you to the appropriate person who can.
