FREE MEDICATION
Most pharmaceutical companies offer 'Indigent Patient Assistance Programs' (or the equivalent). Pharmaceutical companies are required to give away a percentage of their medication each year. You can apply to receive this medication with the assistance and cooperation of your physician. Each company requires an application and many vary on the eligibility requirements. Some programs do not publish their eligibility guidelines, so you must apply to learn if you qualify. Typically, if you are considered eligible for assistance through the program, there is a six to eight week delay before you are notified of acceptance. The medication is then sent (in a three month's supply) to your doctor's office. Individuals have to re-apply every three months. There are several resources to access this information.

OTHER DISCOUNTS
Many organizations and insurance plans have their own discount program for their members. Check with any organizations or insurance plans to which you belong to determine eligibility. Remember, if your insurance plan offers a mail order pharmacy, you can usually get a 90-day supply for one co pay instead of just a 30-day supply at a retail pharmacy.
