Bereavement Central Texas is home to many grief support groups and mental health providers. Your church, synagogue, local hospice or hospital social work staff also may help direct you to bereavement and other emotional or spiritual support services. Grief and Loss Programs
The American SIDS Institute: is dedicated to the prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and the promotion of infant health through research, clinical services, family support and professional and community education. Any Baby Can, Austin Candlelighters Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation Center for Loss and Life Transition The Compassionate Friends (TCF): mission is to assist families in the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child and to provide information to help others be supportive. Focus On The Family: has resources available for those who are grieving. Healing your Grief (Additional Web Sites) Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death: is a Christian not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to reach out to those who have lost a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death and offer a way to share experiences and information through meetings, the bi-monthly newsletter, and our Internet web site. The secret of TCF's success is simple: As seasoned grievers reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow outward and both are helped to heal. SIDS Network: is the growing collaborative effort of individuals from across the United States and around the world. This sites offers up-to-date information as well as support for those who have been touched by the tragedy of SIDS/OID. The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, Inc. (TAPS): is a national non-profit organization made up of, and providing services to, all those who have lost a loved one on active duty with the Armed Forces. The heart of TAPS is our national military survivor peer support network. We also offer grief counseling referral, case worker assistance and crisis information, all available to help families and military personnel cope and recover.
