Capital Area Partnership for End-of-Life Care: 512-317-6860; A coalition of health care professionals, clergy, educators, and interested individuals organized to promote KLRU's September airing of the Bill Moyer's documentary about end-of-life care. On Our Own Terms. CAPEC's goal is to improve the quality of end-of-life care through-out central Texas. Fees: None

Family Eldercare: 512-919-1886 or 1-800-658-8898; Provides in-home care services, legal guardianship and advocacy for the elderly, mentally incapacitated, or disabled, and detailed care plans for elderly individuals and their care givers. Fees: Yes, on a sliding scale basis.

Family Experiences Productions: 512-494-0338; Educational videos, including 4-tape Facing Death series for care givers, patients, and volunteers (produced in collaboration with a local hospice); includes resource guide. Fees: Yes, but several Austin Public Library branches lend tapes.

Last Acts: A national effort financially supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to raise awareness of the need to improve care of the dying and to share issues and ideas. The website links individuals to end-of-life resources at the national, state and local levels. Fees: None
